Following a study into mobile broadband coverage in the UK, which was performed by the UK’s communications regulator Ofcom, it has been revealed that mobile broadband access is available to eighty seven percent of the UK population.

A recent study has been carried out by the UK communications regulator, Ofcom, into mobile broadband coverage in the UK. Mobile broadband services have become increasingly popular amongst both casual and business users, and Ofcom was keen to find out where the gaps were in the market when conducting the study into mobile broadband coverage.

According to the results of the study around eighty seven percent of the UK’s population has access to mobile broadband services, which means that nearly nine out of every ten people are able to access the service and benefit from the freedom and flexibility of mobile broadband.

The study also released details of parts of the UK that were lagging behind when it came to adequate access to mobile broadband services, with many severely lacking in reception. The results also showed that around twelve percent of business users were not happy with the geographical availability of mobile broadband. This compared to just five percent of businesses that were not happy with their fixed line service.

There are a number of mobile broadband providers that now offer services in many different parts of the country, and in a recent poll network provider 3 as voted the best mobile broadband provider. This was in a poll of more than two thousand consumers in a survey by YouGov.
