According to a recent report mobile broadband is becoming a must-have for savvy shoppers hoping to pick up bargains and make the most of their shopping experience

Since mobile broadband technology stormed onto the scene a number of different consumer groups have found a valuable use for this innovative mobile technology. For business users the benefits speak for themselves, offering ease, flexibility, and a truly mobile office. However, it seems that another group that is making the most of mobile technology is shoppers that are keen to get a great deal on the products that they plan to buy.

Research was recently carried out by BT, which showed that many shoppers are using mobile enabled devices in order to check out the price of goods and look at reviews about goods that they are planning to buy whilst they are out and about. Some are simply window shopping, checking out a particular item in person, and then using mobile internet technology to place an order online, where it is often cheaper.

The research from BT showed that whilst out and about people were browsing for goods and services using their mobile broadband device, they were checking out product reviews online, and some were even making purchases using their mobile broadband whilst they were on the move, showing how useful mobile broadband access has become to shoppers that want to get the best deal on the products that they purchase.

The results of the survey showed that respondents were visiting a range of sites whilst on the move, and this included search sites, which were the most popular, news sites, travel and transport sites, entertainment sites, sports sites, and price comparison sites. For many consumers being able to access the Internet and compare product prices online against those in the shop provides a great opportunity to save money.
