Consumers want more from their mobile broadband experience

A recent report has shown how mobile broadband and internet users in the UK are demanding more and more in terms of their user experience, with mobile web solutions facing increasing demands.

A recent report has been released showing how the expectations and demand of mobile broadband and internet users in the UK are on the rise, putting businesses under increased pressure to live up to these expectations. Mobile web solutions are said to be facing increased demand from consumers according to the technology firm Compuware Corporation, which carried out the research.

The research results showed that around fifty six percent of users expected web pages accessed via mobile internet and broadband platforms to be loaded as quickly if not more quickly than with their home broadband connection and PC. Around half of users said that they expected web pages to load in around three seconds or less whilst around seventy percent said that they were prepared to wait no more than five seconds for a webpage to load before giving up and exiting the web page altogether.

One industry official said that some companies were missing out on huge opportunities because they were failing to live up to the expectations of consumers when it came to mobile internet experiences. Vice president of Europe, Africa and Middle East at Compuware, David Flower, said: “User expectations for mobile continue to increase, but companies in the UK are not meeting mobile users’ need for fast and reliable experiences.”

Do you expect your mobile web pages to load as quickly or more quickly than with your home broadband?
