This week has seen the launch of a nano technology based laptop in the UK from the global electronics giant Samsung, and predictions are that it will prove very popular.

Recent reports have confirmed that a new offering from electronics giant Samsung has been launched in the UK this week. The new NC20 laptop from Samsung Electronics was launched earlier this week, and is an innovative laptop that is based on a Nano processor from Via Technologies.

Operator BT was accepting pre-orders for the laptop, which has proven very popular in other countries, and is set to enjoy great success in the UK according to predictions from industry professionals. The NC20 will retail at just under four hundred pounds. It comes with a twelve inch screen, a 1.3Ghz Nano processor, 1GB of RAM, a 120GB hard disk, and Windows XP.

At first the laptop will only be available with white casing, but according to reports a version with black casing will be made available from around the middle of March. Many have been waiting for the launch of this laptop model for some weeks, with rumours about its possible launch having started in around December of last year.

Via, which is one of the smaller processor vendors compared to giants like Intel, has also benefited from the laptop, and getting this business from an electrical giant like Samsung will prove to be very positive for Via and could really help to boost business. The company now hopes to compete with Intel for a greater share of higher power laptops.

Samsung unveiled the new NC20 laptop system last year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Some officials have said that this is a good choice for consumers that want something that lies between a laptop and a netbook and still has an affordable price tag.
