LG Chromebook plans exposed by Microsoft
Well, the cat is out of the bag, as far as LG fans and Chrome lovers are concerned, as some secret information about an LG device running on chrome OS has been accidentally revealed in one of the press releases issued by Microsoft the other day.

Basically, the leaked surprise came, as LG and Microsoft inked a patent agreement that gives broad coverage to LG tablets and other similar products under Microsoft’s patent portfolio.
Interestingly, though the agreement partner is Microsoft, the deal, according to the company statement, is applicable to Android as well as Chrome OS devices from LG.
Though we are less concerned with the patent tussles that LG may face in the absence of such a deal with Microsoft, we are pretty concerned with the clause which adds Chrome OS devices from LG under the pact.
At the moment, we have no hard info available, not through any leaks or blurry shots, about the existence of any LG devices running on Chrome platform. So we are indeed interested in the deal which is now in the lime light.
However, extending the patent deal to manufactures like LG, HTC, Samsung or Acer, even for their devices running on other platforms, is not a new thing for Microsoft.
As per sources close to the Intellectual Property wing of the company, they have inked at least 10 such deals so far with major smartphone, tablet manufactures in the world. The new deal actually is just an extension of an agreement which had already existed between the companies.
So in short, what does it all mean to us? Not much that we can put a finger on, but with the deal will be just a tip of the iceberg, and we can hopefully expect that LG is mulling over a cloud loving notebook running on the Chrome platform.
