It has been revealed that one of the market towns set to benefit from super-fast broadband from BT will be Stourport, which will come as good news for businesses and residents in the area.

It was recently announced that a number of market towns across the UK were set to benefit from the next phase of the rollout by communications giant BT in relation to its high speed fibre broadband service. It has now been revealed that one of these towns will be Stourport, which means that businesses and residents in the area will be able to look forward to much faster broadband speeds.

According to reports more than nine thousand residents and businesses will be able to benefit from the faster speeds, which will give them access to speeds of up to 40Mbps by around the spring of next year. It was only recently announced that BT would be including a few rural towns in its next phase of the rollout of super-fast broadband.

BT said that there was a high demand for super-fast broadband in some of the areas that were selected for inclusion in the next phase of the rollout, adding that this was part of its commitment “to deliver faster broadband speeds to more rural parts of the country”.

A BT official said: “Fibre broadband has the power to revolutionise the way we use the internet. It has huge implications for the way we live, learn and do business, with massive opportunities for entertainment, education and entrepreneurs. People in these communities will soon be able to experience the internet as they have never seen it before.”
