Quiconnect Agreement allows BT to increase its Wi-Fi broadband hotspots

Following the announcement of a new agreement with Quiconnect, network operator, BT will now be able to expand the number of Wi-Fi broadband hotspots that its customers can use around the world.

Now, on top of the huge number of Wi-Fi hotspots that BT has available throughout the UK and Ireland there will be more than 55 000 international Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the world that will be linked to the BT Openzone Wi-Fi broadband network thanks to this new agreement with Quiconnect.

Any BT broadband customer with a laptop will soon have the added benefit of being able to use the free Wi-Fi minutes that come included with their broadband contracts to access wireless broadband services whenever they are abroad.

The head of BT’s International Roaming Service, Marjorie Leonidas spoke of the new partnership saying “Our partnership allows us to provide an even better choice of locations. We look forward to announcing more partner interconnections and hotspots this year.”

Jeff Mabe, the vice president of Quiconnect said “We are delighted to continue our partnership with BT Openzone as a wireless broadband leader and innovator. Quiconnect continues to provide a similar service to over 40 partners worldwide.”

He went on to add “BT Openzone’s renewed commitment allows Quiconnect the opportunity for continued development and testing of new and exciting tools, technology and processes that demonstrates our credibility in all areas of wireless connectivity.”

There are currently more than 3500 hotspots throughout UK and Ireland that include locations like Thistle Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Caffe Nero and Starbucks where users have the benefit of being able to access BT Wi-Fi broadband services.

This latest news may prove very popular with customers who are looking for added incentives from the broadband provider they are considering subscribing to.
