The latest phase in the rollout of high speed broadband by BT is to include the Eastbourne area, which is something that will please residents and businesses in the area.

There are many towns and cities across the UK that are keen to be included in the rollout of high speed broadband by communications giant BT. With the telecoms giant regularly adding to its list of towns and cities where there are to be upgrades many areas have been waiting patiently for their turn to come, including Eastbourne.

It has now been announced that Eastbourne is to be included in the new broadband programme from BT, which is news that will delight many consumers and businesses in the area. Having access to high speed broadband is vital to many people these days, as they use the internet for so many different things. For businesses, reliable high speed access is particularly important as it can really affect the success of the business and their ability to compete with rivals.

Upgrades in Eastbourne and many of the other areas that have been highlighted in the next rounds of upgrades by BT should see the upgrades being completed over the course of 2012.

John Weaver, BT´s regional director for the south east, said, “It’s great news that more homes and businesses in the south east are joining the world’s fastest growing fibre optic network. This latest BT investment is another important step forward in the development of highly sophisticated communications in our region. No-one understands better than BT that fast and reliable internet connections are vital for business and central to our daily lives. We plan to bring super-fast fibre broadband to two thirds of the UK, but this isn’t the full extent of our ambition.”
