Business class fibre based broadband unveiled by BT
Communications giant BT has recently revealed details about its fibre based broadband service for businesses, which is known as BT Business Total Broadband Fibre.
There has been anticipation over the plans of communications giant BT to roll out its high speed fibre based broadband service for some time, and recently the company announced release dates and pricing for its fibre broadband network for UK homes. Details have now also been revealed for BT’s business fibre based broadband, which will offer speeds of up to 40Mbps.
The business fibre based broadband service from BT is called the BT Business Total Broadband Fibre, and the potential speeds that businesses may be able to achieve through this service could provide companies with huge benefits. As part of the service business customers will be given priority on the networks at times of contention, and they will also be able to benefit from upstream speeds of up to 10Mbps.
The high speed service will allow businesses to take advantage of a variety of technologies that could aid the smooth running of the business, such as conferencing and cloud applications amongst other things. Officials also believe that the service will make remote working easier for employees, which will further aid the success of businesses.
An official from BT said: “28% of businesses are already using faster broadband to expand their website capabilities, and another 25% are using it to drive more processes online and employ more bandwidth-hungry technology according to our research last year**. BT Business Total Broadband Fibre gives businesses capacity and reliability, with the reassurance of a priority service, to enjoy the best possible online experience. We are committed to rolling out higher speeds and additional coverage across the UK during 2010.”
