BT upgrades mean Internet boost for many customers
Many BT customers could soon be enjoying an Internet boost taking their speed from just 8Mbps to 20 Mbps as a result of upgraded telephone exchanges close to where they live.
Many BT customers could soon be looking forward to much faster broadband speeds with this provider, as a recent report has revealed that many of BT’s customers could find their broadband speeds rocketing from up to 8Mbps to up to 20Mbos, providing them with an invaluable and much welcomed boost to their speed.
This comes as the communications giant has upgraded some of its telephone exchanges, and those living in areas close to the exchanges will be able to enjoy the improved broadband speeds for free. For new customers and those that want to sign a new contract the new faster speeds will be available at under eight pounds a month for the first three months.
Upload speeds available from BT are also set to increase, and will rise from 448Kb to 1Mb. Customers are also able to apply for a BT Broadband Speed Accelerator, or iPlate, which is available for free online other than the one pounds twenty cost of postage and packing.
An official from BT said: “The BT Broadband Accelerator can make a big difference to the speed of your broadband. We think it is so important we’ve taken the decision to offer it to our customers for just the cost of the postage. Between that and us more than doubling headline speeds for millions of homes and businesses, most customers should start to see a rapid boost in the performance of their connection. We have a track record of not charging customers any more when we increase the speed and this time is no different. BT broadband customers won’t have to pay any more to get higher speeds.”
