BT highlights importance of high speed broadband for businesses

Communications giant BT, which is in the throes of rolling out its high speed fibre based broadband network, has recently highlighted the importance of high speed broadband for businesses in the UK.

For many businesses things have been a real struggle over the past couple of years, with the global financial crisis and the recession really taking their toll on the success of businesses. Whilst the recession is now over and businesses are trying to get back on track many smaller and medium sized businesses are still having problems because of lack of broadband access, which has been deemed vital to help businesses back on the road to recovery.

Communications giant BT, which is the process of rolling out high speed fibre optic broadband across the UK, has recently highlighted the benefits of fibre based broadband, which is claims will enable businesses to not only enjoy faster broadband speeds but will also enable them to enjoy the benefits of using a far wider range of services and applications, which could contribute to their success.

BT also said that fibre based broadband would enable companies to enjoy the benefits of using up and coming cloud computing, and make processing and storing files far more secure and sophisticated. Many other benefits were highlighted by BT, such as the ease of video conferencing for firms that have access to fibre based broadband.

BT has continued to roll out its fibre broadband service to various parts of the UK, and is aiming to have sixty six percent of homes and businesses connected to the service by 2015.
