BT announces impressive customer figures
BT has recently proven its determination to maintain the number one spot as broadband provider, after announcing that t now has more than four million customers
Following its acquisition of Plusnet last year, coupled with huge success with customers in the UK, communications giant British Telecom has announced that it now has over four million customers, and is the first broadband provider to reach this level of customers, helping it to maintain its number one spot as broadband provider in the UK. When it acquired Plusnet BT netted nearly two hundred thousand customers in one feel swoop, which helped it to break the impressive four million barrier.
The chief executive of BT Retail stated: “Four million customers is a great achievement in such a short time. Broadband has proved to be one of the most popular new services ever seen. It is already delivering next generation television, inclusive free phone calls in High Definition sound and great value mobile calls. Broadband can provide so many more services than just internet surfing and it has become central to many people’s lives and businesses. Customers want to take advantage of the potential of broadband and need a high quality, reliable service.”
Like other broadband providers BY has its fair share of grumbles about issues such as reduced speeds and throttling, but officials claim that they try and explain all terms clearly and accurately to customers. The company states: “As an industry we need to make it clearer what we mean by these terms, so that our customers know exactly what we mean by ‘up to 8mb’. We will never be the cheapest broadband provider but we offer a good variety of services and add-ons our customers seem to like.”
BT has beaten other broadband giants such as Virgin Media to the number one spot as broadband provider in the UK, and was recently voted the best broadband provider in a customer poll.
