Web inventor wants free internet access for all

The inventor of the World Wide Web, Tim Berners-Lee, has recently been speaking at the Nokia World Conference in London, and has said that everyone should have basic access to the internet by default.

According to recent report the inventor of the World Wide Web has spoken out about how he feels that everyone should have access to basic internet services by default, as this could provide huge benefits to the many people that do not have access to the internet at present.

The web inventor, Tim Berners-Lee, was speaking recently at the Nokia World Conference in London, and he said that everyone should be provided with free access to basic internet services. He said that at present eighty percent of the global population had never used the internet, and that he wanted to see everyone provided with a basic connection for free.

In his speech Berners-Lee stated: “I would like to see people enrolled in a cheap data plan by default. I would like them to get it for free.” He said that in many cases mobile devices could be used to bring consumers online, and this would be made easier by the rising number of mobile internet and broadband devices that were hitting the markets worldwide.

He said that mobile devices could play a key part in helping to get everyone online, and that the web could provide invaluable opportunities to people when it came to accessing services such as healthcare, as well as for other opportunities such as education and jobs.
