Wales does have the broadband infrastructure to support business growth claims Welsh ISP
A number of reports have claimed recently that Wales is set to be left behind in the digital revolution. However, one industry official has stated that Wales has the technology to shape its own digital future.

Broadband Expert recently reported that the lack of adequate broadband in Wales was forcing businesses out of the area because they were unable to access the broadband speeds and technology that they needed for their growth and success. One industry official has responded to these claims stating that Wales already has the technology to shape its own digital future.
Annette Burgess, managing director of Powys-based company Exwavia has spoken out against the variety of reports that have indicated that Wales is doomed when it comes to broadband. She said that whilst the technology was there it was important for companies like her own to work together so that they could shape their own digital future.
She stated that she did acknowledge that survey results had shown that many people in Wales were not satisfied with their broadband services and providers, and that connection speeds were low. However, she also said that she was confident that Welsh Internet companies had the answers to these problems already as well as the technology to make improvements throughout Wales.
Burgess stated: “Wales already has many leading edge hi-tech companies like ourselves. People should realise that we have all the relevant technology right here in Wales but we have to work together to shape our own digital future. But we need to act now and we need to act fast. Having reliable and consistent broadband access is considered to be the 5th utility.”
She has also arranged a meeting to which she has invited Plaid Cymru’s Deputy Housing Minister Jocelyn Davies in order to discuss the plans of the party when it comes to making major improvements in relation to Wi-Fi and broadband across the country.
