UK pips US to the post with broadband service
It has been revealed in a recent report that the UK enjoys better broadband services than the United States, although neither country fared particularly well when it came to the overall rankings.
When it comes to broadband services both business and general users want to get the best they can. It is has been revealed in a report that was released after a recent study that when it comes to broadband services the UK has managed to just about pip the United States to the post, which indicates that those in the UK can enjoy better broadband services than those in the United States.
However, neither country did particularly well in the overall rankings, which rated the broadband services of fifty seven countries. The study was undertaken by the market research firm Strategy Analytic. The fifty seven countries whose broadband services were included in the research were rated according to customer penetration, affordability, speed, and value for money.
The country found to be offering the best broadband services was South Korea, which means that the world’s best broadband can be found in South Korea based on the report. Others that made up the top five were Hong Kong, Holland, Lithuania, and Japan. The UK came 22nd and the USA came 23rd.
Ben Piper, director of the firm’s multiplay market dynamics service and author of the report, said that it was important to look at different factors when looking at broadband services and similar services. He said: ‘The traditional single metric approach of looking at broadband is becoming less relevant. We feel confident that our multifactor index is a superior indicator of a country’s relative broadband advancement.’
