UK online retail market booming
It has been reported recently that the online retail market in the UK has been booming, reflecting the importance of businesses to embrace the Internet as a way of boosting business.

Over recent years the online retail market has been booming according to recent reports, and with the boom in online spending it has become increasingly evident just how important it now is for businesses to embrace the internet when it comes to making a greater success of their business.
With so many people now having access to broadband services more and more people have been spending money online over the past decade, turning the online retail environment into a hugely successful one. The IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index launched in April 2000 and now, eleven years on, officials have confirmed that more than £300bn has been spent online in the UK since 2000.
The success of the online retail market is set to continue to grow according to officials, with one spokesperson stating: “An estimated £300bn has been spent online in the UK during the 11 years that our Index has been tracking the e-retail market, and with around £70bn estimated to be spent this year, we expect that figure to easily double within four years.”
He said that despite the concerns and performance of the economy as a whole the success of online retail and spending would continue to grow, stating: “With 80% of the UK population now online and Government plans to extend the speed and geographical reach of broadband services, we anticipate a continued acceleration of growth irrespective of the economic situation as a whole.”
