UK eSports names Be Broadband as its official 2009 sponsor

With the ever increasing popularity of online gaming the official body for online gaming in the UK has revealed Be Broadband to be its official sponsor and broadband provider in 2009 stating that it was the most relevant provider of broadband for gamers in the UK.

Be Broadband, the UK broadband service provider has now been announced formally as the official broadband provider sponsor in 2009 for the UK eSports Association (UKeSA).

Based on the many packages it provides that are targeted at gamers, like its “Be Gamer” package, Be Broadband was seen by the UKeSA as being the UK’s most relevant provider of broadband, which recognised both the increasing relevance and popularity of gaming online with its customers.

The managing director of Be Broadband, Felix Geyr, who was more than happy with the association his company now has with the competitive online gaming industry’s official body in the UK said “We are genuinely excited by the steps UKeSA is taking to develop competitive eSports in the UK and are delighted to be able to show our commitment to gamers and gaming through being involved in this process.”

The chief executive of UKeSA, Ray Ria was full of praise for the broadband provider and said in a comment on the newly formed partnership with Be “Be has an impeccable reputation within the gaming community due to its exceptional connectivity services and great community. This partnership with Be Broadband is a fantastic step and sends a clear message of support to the UK’s 21 million console and PC gamers.”

The launching of both a Championship Division (semi-professional) and Open Division (open to everyone) season was recently announced by the UKeSA. The UK has 1500 teams comprising of 6500 players currently battling for a UKeSA finals place, which a prize fund of £35 000 at stake for the winners.
