UK broadband prices amongst the lowest in the world
Newly released figures from the UK’s communications regulator Ofcom have suggested that broadband prices in the UK are amongst the lowest in the world.
One of the major considerations for consumers and businesses in the UK who are considering broadband services is the price of the service, particularly in the current financial climate where many people are looking to save money on their outgoings. The good news is that consumers and businesses in Britain are thought to have access to some of the lowest broadband prices globally.
The UK’s communications regulator has recently released new figures, which suggest that the prices of broadband services in the UK are amongst the lowest in the world. The communicator carried out pricing analysis of broadband services across the globe in order to reach the conclusion that UK prices for broadband services were amongst the lowest in the world.
The report showed that the cheapest UK deal for a family that had four mobile phones home phone, digital television services, and 8Mbps broadband services was around one hundred and two pounds for a subscription. This was around twenty eight percent lower than the next cheapest country for the same deal, which was Italy.
The chief executive of Ofcom, Ed Richards, stated that the figures show that consumers in the UK are able to benefit from great value broadband. He said: “The report shows that UK consumers have benefited from competition in the form of lower prices. Innovation means that the UK is well placed in the take up and availability of digital services.” Research from Ofcom has also shown that around thirty five percent of consumers now take their services as a bundle from the same provider, which can also work out cheaper.
