UK broadband offers great value for money

A recent survey carried out by a consumer campaign group has suggested that UK broadband actually does offer very good value for money.

Most consumers in the UK are looking for a combination of high quality services, reliability, and value for money when it comes to getting a broadband service, and according to the results of a study carried out by a consumer campaign group this is exactly what they are able to get. In fact, the research suggested that broadband services in the UK offered far better value for money than most people thought.

The research was carried out by the consumer campaign group, Which?. A report was published that showed how Internet and utility costs compared from one country to another. The average household bill for broadband services in the UK was found to be around four hundred and thirty pounds a year. This was found to be very good value for money when compared to the costs that consumers were paying in some other European countries.

Reports suggested that whilst some European countries were charging a little less or a little more each year for broadband services compared to the UK one European country stood out for its high broadband costs, which was Spain. This country was found to be charging an average eight hundred and twenty eight pounds a year for broadband services.

Figures that were recently released have also shown that demand for broadband in Europe is still high, and a report from the European Commission showed that in July of this year around twenty four percent of the population of Europe had access to broadband, which was a rise of three percent compared to the same period in 2008.
