There’s a lot more to providing best broadband than just speed
It has been claimed by an industry expert that there is a lot more than just speed that needs to be considered when it comes to the UK’s aim to provide the best broadband by 2015

Over recent months the government has said that it is aiming to ensure that the UK has the best broadband network in Europe by 2015. The ambitious plans from the government would ideally see the UK at the top of the league tables when it comes to the quality of the broadband network, putting it in the top spot across Europe within the next four years.
However, one industry expert has pointed out that there is a lot more to creating the ideal network than just looking at the speed of the broadband service, although speed is of course a very important factor. Antony Walker, chief executive of the BSG, said that there are a number of factors that will need to be taken into consideration when it comes to ensuring that the country has the best broadband network in Europe.
Walker said that there were a number of factors that would contribute towards the development of what many officials hope will be the best broadband network in Europe. He said: “It’s not just simply about headline speeds, it’s about the use, application and take-up, confidence in the marketplace and so on.”
Faster broadband and improved access will provide more and more consumers with the chance to enjoy online activities such as online streaming content and online gaming, which officials have said will come as good news for providers of this type of content.
