Technology makes many feel overwhelmed

It has been revealed in a recent report that whilst many people embrace technology such as broadband, mobile phones, and more, a huge number of us feel overwhelmed by it.

Technology is something that has revolutionized our working and home lives over the years, and there are many people these days who would struggle to cope without access to technology such as broadband, mobile phones, and the vast plethora of other technological delights that we use in our day to day lives.

However, despite an increasing reliance on technology a recent report has shown that a huge number of us are overwhelmed by the technology that we have at our fingertips these days. The research was carried out by Cambridge University, and shows that around one third of people have felt overwhelmed by technology.

A surprising revelation that came from the eight month research project was that the majority of both adults and children said that despite all the various technology that was around they preferred face to face communication. Sixty five percent of adults said this as did sixty four percent of children.

An official involved with the study said: “There is much discussion about whether communications technology is affecting us for the better or worse. The research has shown that communications technology is seen by most as a positive tool but there are examples where people are not managing usage as well as they could be. It is not necessarily the amount but the way in which it is used.”
