Students can get competitive broadband deals

More and more Internet Service Providers are said to be exercising increased awareness of the needs of students and are offering plans and service accordingly.

According to a recent report a rising number of Internet Service Providers are becoming increasingly aware of the needs of students when it comes to broadband services and are therefore offering suitable plans and packages to cater for their needs. This is important for students who already struggle financially yet need to have reliable broadband for their studies and educational needs.

For many students the thing that they often look for when choosing a broadband plan or service is a freebie or incentive to purchase the plan. However, Internet Service Providers are becoming more savvy when it comes to working out what students want from their broadband and are offering highly competitive prices as well as a range of tailor made incentives.

One industry official said: “Trying to meet the needs of everyone in a student household can often be challenging and time consuming, not to mention expensive. Luckily, suppliers are becoming increasingly aware of the specific needs of students, with low monthly costs, short contracts and freebies thrown in.”

He added: “Student households are heavy users of broadband so it’s crucial students check file transfer speed and usage allowance before signing a contract. Many won’t want 12-month contracts, so look out for short or no-contract packages. It’s likely price will be the deciding factor for those on tight budgets, and providers have started to target the market with low-cost deals.”

Are you aware of any particularly good student broadband plans on offer?
