Speed still high priority for broadband users

The results of a recent study have shown that amongst the various priorities that consumers have when it comes to choosing broadband the speed of the connection is one of the higher priorities.

There are many things that consumers take into consideration when trying to decide which broadband service or package to opt for, and this includes factors such as price, reliability, quality of service, features, and speed. A recent survey has revealed that one of the top priorities for those looking to choose a broadband plan or package is the speed of the service, which has become increasingly important to many people.

The survey has shown that whilst many consumers are keen to keep costs down in the current financial climate the price of the package is not their main priority when choose their service. The results showed that more people were interested in the speed of the connection that they would receive with their broadband service rather than the price of the plan.

With people engaging in a wider range of activities these days, such as online gaming, watching movies, streaming content, etc, speed has become an increasingly important factor for those deciding on which plan or package to choose. Of those polled over one third said that speed was more important to them than saving money or going for the convenience of a bundle.

One official involved in the study said: “Broadband providers in the UK have seen a rise in demand for faster broadband, despite the availability of cheaper packages. Given the current economic climate you’d expect value for money to be the consumer’s top priority but that’s simply not the case.”
