Some wealthy areas receiving poor broadband services
According to a recent report some people that live in wealthy and exclusive parts of the UK are unable to access satisfactory broadband services.
Whilst many people that live in wealthy and exclusive areas of the UK may be enjoying better living conditions and more attractive surroundings than many others one thing that many of them are unable to access, despite their wealth, is decent and satisfactory broadband service access, according to a recent report. The results of a study have shown that whilst residents in these areas may be able to use their money to buy nice houses and flash cars many simply can’t get their hands on adequate broadband services.
The report, based on a recent survey, seems to indicate that some richer consumers in the country are getting poor access to adequate broadband services. Two of the areas highlighted as having poor access to decent broadband services in the UK were Henley On Thames and Marlow in the country of Buckinghamshire.
Although these are wealthy areas the levels of fixed line broadband services in these areas are poor, according to the report. On average broadband connections in Marlow came in at under 500Kbps whereas the average across the UK is 3.6Mbps. One official involved in the research said that for many people in these areas a more effective option could be to go for mobile broadband services rather than low speed fixed line broadband.
One official stated: “If you thought that poor broadband coverage was confined to windswept crofters in remote villages in the Scottish Highlands, think again. We’ve known for a long time that money can’t buy you love. Our research shows it’s no guarantee of a good home broadband service either.”
