Slow broadband forces businesses out of Wales
It has been reported that businesses are being forced out of Wales because the quality and speed of broadband in some areas simply isn’t sufficient for their needs.

For most businesses in this age of technology having adequate broadband speeds is something that has become essential and most would prefer to have high speed broadband access in order to benefit their production, opportunities, and business as a whole. However, it appears that many businesses in Wales are not getting any of this, and as a result are jumping ship and moving their business elsewhere.
According to recent reports a rising number of businesses are leaving Wales simply because they are unable to get the broadband speeds, access, and quality that they need to boost business and enjoy success. A recent poll was carried out showing that this situation was becoming more and more prevalent, and many people expressed anger claiming that providers are not living up to their promises with regards to broadband speeds.
A poll showed that less than a third of consumers were happy with their broadband service, and there are warnings that the area could lose skilled workers and valuable services if the situation does not improve. Forty percent of those polled said that they relied on the Internet for their business but seventy one percent said that they were disappointed with the speed that they received.
An official from the Assembly Government said that there were plans for improvement, stating: “Welsh Ministers have set a target for all businesses to have access to Next Generation broadband by mid-2016, and all households by 2020 – ahead of European targets. Next-generation broadband includes giving access to a minimum speed of 30Mbps.”
