A recent report has shown that consumers in the UK are able to get far better deals and improved value for money from broadband providers, as competition in the market continues to heat up.

Over recent years the competition amongst the rising number of Internet Service Providers in the UK has really been heating up, and with rival broadband providers desperate to tempt customers away from one another the deals available from these ISPs have become increasingly affordable. In fact, according to some industry officials consumers in the UK are now able to get excellent value for money on their broadband deals.

One official from a research company that carried out a study into what broadband companies were now offering consumers to increase value for money stated: “Broadband operators are having to make big improvements to their offerings in the face of competition.” The company added that consumer were now paying far less for their broadband yet getting much more from their providers.

Another spokesperson from the company said: “If you want to convince the average customer they should take your broadband service over the competition you have two primary selling points, price and speed. If we look at the ‘entry level’ services on offer in these terms we can start to make some direct comparisons.”

One industry expert said that by switching provider some consumers may find that they get even better value for money. He said: “Broadband is one of the few household bills to fall despite the recession, with prices falling even as faster download speeds are being offered. Despite this, customers can still save up to £135 by switching broadband provider and could also get themselves a better service.”
