Post Office cuts the cost of broadband

In a recent announcement the Post Office has announced that the prices on many of its broadband and phone service packages have been cut

Over recent years the world of broadband and communications has become increasingly competitive, with more and more providers entering the market and driving down the price of this technology for consumers. The of the more recent players to enter the world of broadband is the Post Office, which started offering broadband services last summer.

Since its launch the Post Office Service claims to have signed up over half a million broadband customers. Due to the risk of closures and reduced business stemming from an increasing number of services being available online the Post Office has been trying to diversify over the last few years, and offering broadband is one of the ways in which it hopes to do this,

The Post Office has recently announced that it is cutting the monthly cost of many of its broadband and phone packages, which will be good news for customers that are struggling financially due to rising living costs and the global credit crunch. A number of package prices are being cut, with the monthly costs falling by between one and three pounds a month.

The largest price cut will be made on the HomePhone with Broadband Standard package, which was previously £22.95 but has fallen to £19.95 per month. With this package consumers can enjoy up to 8Mbps, 5GB of monthly usage, line rental and calls, a free modem, free connection, and UK based support amongst other things.

There are a number of different packages on offer from the Post Office, and for those looking for affordable broadband the packages start at just £15.95 per month.
