It has recently been revealed that the number one method of communication for younger people in the UK these days is online.

In the past communication with friends, loved ones, and even companies, banks, and other outside agencies was done by phone, in person, or in writing. However, since the Internet became a mainstream household service this has all changed, and online communication has become a hugely effective, fast, and convenient way for people to communicate with all sorts of people and companies.

In fact, there is a generation of younger people that can’t remember life without broadband, and as such their best known method of communication is online. A recent report has shown that the number one method of communication for younger people in the UK these days is via the Internet.

It was revealed in the survey that younger people now much prefer to keep in touch and chat with friends online using methods such as email, MSN Messenger, and the hugely popular social networking sites such as Facebook. In fact, officials have encouraged companies to start using social networking sites, as this is such an effective way to get through to the younger generation due to their popularity amongst this age group.

One official involved in the research stated: ‘Real life involves human interaction, but as with public speaking there is more scope for error and misunderstanding. Web users get the anonymity they crave with the option of involvement, rather than being forced to endure sales talks or queue for a product.’ It was also highlighted that companies need to invest more money and time in developing online marketing strategies to appeal to younger people, as the Internet was the perfect portal through which to get through to them.
