One million homes to benefit from Fibrecity network
According to recent reports one million homes in the UK are set to benefit from the fibre based network from Fibrecity, with the rollout set to begin within the next year.
According to officials from Fibrecity around one million homes are to be connected to its fibre optic broadband network within the next four years. Derby, Halton, Nottingham, Plymouth and York are amongst the places where the rollout of the fibre network is set to take place. Whilst work is set to commence over the next year it will take around four years to complete according to officials, but which time one million homes should be connected to the network.
Internet Service Providers Velocity1 and Fibreband will be providing the service to customers according to the report, and it is thought that the price of the service could be just under twenty pounds a month including line rental, offering great value for money and affordability for consumers.
The service will offer 100Mbps connection speeds, which will prove invaluable for the many consumers that have become reliant on high speed broadband access for activities such as streaming data and online gaming, and considering the speed of the connection users are able to enjoy excellent value for money based on the estimated costs.
The company said that there were also plans to extend its network even further in the future, although no decision had yet been made. He said: “There’s a whole host of factors that go into the decision. Getting the local council on board has huge advantages. Another big thing is our sister company H20 – which provides services to businesses. H20 builds fibre rings around cities and from these we can spawn the rest of a network.”
