New survey suggests that most users are happy with their broadband connection
Although recent Ofcom reports have shown that most users in the UK are not getting the broadband connection speeds that they pay for a survey carried out by a popular IT website has found that most users are happy with the broadband service they receive.
It was suggested that the majority of broadband users are fairly happy with their Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the initial results of an annual survey carried out by the IT website, PC Advisor.
Most consumers are currently unwilling to move across to another provider even though the broadband connection speeds that they are receiving are not as fast as the theoretical maximums that their ISP are suggesting.
Just 38 percent of the 5000 plus respondents that took part in the PC Advisor broadband survey 2009 said that they were with a different service provider than they were two years ago and 25 percent of users said that it had been five year since they last changed broadband providers.
When looking for the best broadband provider the price of the broadband service is currently the number one criteria, with connection speed coming in second even though there is overwhelming evidence that says otherwise.
Although there is constant criticism that broadband providers are not delivering the speeds they are promising, 17 percent of those surveyed said that they never bother to check the speeds that their service provider gives them, which is a good indication of why people aren’t switching providers.
Although this may seem to be an apathetic response the survey also found that 78.8 percent of respondents were either very happy or happy with the broadband connection from their broadband provider and would be happy to recommend a friend to use their ISP.
