Nearly three quarters of UK adults have home broadband
It has been revealed in recent figures released by the UK communications regulator Ofcom that around three quarters of UK adults now have home broadband.

According to figures that have recently been released by the UK communications regulator, Ofcom, around three quarters of adults in the UK now have a home broadband connection. The figures come from the regulator’s recent study, called Media Literacy in the Nations. The study showed that of adults aged sixteen and over seventy four percent had a home broadband connection.
The study also showed that seventy six percent of adults in the UK had some form of internet access within the home. Of those interviewed, eighty percent said that they used the internet on a regular basis which reflected an increase of three percent compared to the first three months of last year. On average UK consumers spend between nine and ten hours a week browsing the internet at home.
Of those that did not use the internet themselves, around twenty percent said that they got help from a third party in order to access the internet. Of those that did not have internet access at home eleven percent said that this was due to the cost and affordability whilst forty seven percent said that they simply did not have any interest in getting online.
Those that did not have broadband access in the home had little interest in accessing online services according to the report, with only small percentages that were interested in services such as email and making purchases online.
