More time spent on broadband enabled computers in Lancashire
According to the UK’s communications regulator Ofcom more time is spent on broadband enabled computers in the Lancashire area than in any other part of the UK.
These days many people use internet and broadband enables computers in the UK, and according to recently released figures from the UK’s communications giant Ofcom the average person in the UK spends nearly fifty five hours using an internet enabled computer. However, the regulator has also stated that consumers in the Lancashire area spend more time on internet enabled computers than consumers in any other part of the UK.
The figures from Ofcom showed that in May of this year the average user from the Lancashire area spent around sixty two and a half hours on an internet enabled computer. This compared with just under fifty five hours across the UK as a whole. The figures were released as part of the Ofcom Communications Market Report.
The area in which businesses and residents used internet enabled computers the least was said to be in the Border region, where the average usage per person came in at just under forty four hours. In other areas, however, including London, the Midlands, and the south of England, usage amongst consumers and businesses came in at above the national average.
According to officials from Ofcom there could be many different reasons behind the different variations in usage of internet enabled computers amongst consumers and businesses in different parts of the country. Ofcom stated: “Regional differences in time spent in this way are likely to be driven by a number of factors including age profile, socio-economic profile and the rural/urban split of a region.”
