Many failed to save money on broadband bills in 2009
It has been claimed that despite needing to tighten their belts many people failed to save money on broadband services and other services in 2009 simply by failing to switch providers.
As many people will be only too aware 2009 was a very difficult year in terms of finances, and many people were adamant that they needed to save money and cut back on their outgoings. However, despite this it has been revealed that a huge number of people failed to save money on the cost of their broadband as well as a number of other services simply because they did not bother to switch provider or package to a more competitive deal.
Officials have said that there was stiff competition amongst broadband providers in 2009, prompting many to offer some very good deals on broadband services. However, despite all of the offers that were out there many of us still failed to switch providers in order to save money on our broadband bills, leaving a lot of people paying out far more than they needed to on their broadband bills.
According to reports it is not only broadband that consumers failed to switch in 2009 in order to save money, as they also failed to switch to cheaper services and products in other areas such as gas, electricity, insurance, and credit cards, amongst others. With regards to broadband services only fourteen and a half percent of us switched provider in the past twelve months.
Other recent reports have suggested that a rising number of people have resolved to make cutbacks on their outgoings for the forthcoming year, and a far larger number of consumers are planning to switch their broadband services to find a better or more suitable deal this year.
