Many broadband users still failing to bundle

Despite the difficult financial climate and the need to cut back on bills one industry official said that many consumers are still failing to save money by bundling their broadband, landline, and television services.

For many people across the UK saving money on monthly outgoings has become a major priority, particularly given the difficult financial climate that we have all faced over the past couple of years. Many people have tried to work out ways to save money on their outgoings, and have tried to reduce their bills and switch services in order to make their bills cheaper.

However, one industry official has expressed concern that whilst people seem to be keen to save money on the cost of their bills many broadband users are failing to bundle their broadband, landline, and television service, which could potentially save them a fair amount of money. The broadband industry official, Mr Phillips, expressed surprise that so many people were failing to opt for broadband bundle deals and were instead opting to take these services with individual providers.

Mr Phillips said that there was great potential for savings to be made by customers that took out a broadband bundle deal rather than taking each service with a different provider. He said: “There are considerable savings to be made as consumers can save over £200 a year by bundling their broadband package with digital TV and home phone services.”

He also expressed how surprised he was that people were not taking the opportunity to make these savings through bundling their services, adding: “Household bills are high on the agenda – politically and socially – so it is surprising to see so many people continuing to pay separate suppliers for these services.”
