A recent report has revealed that a large number of broadband users in the UK are hoping to save money by switching broadband providers or packages in 2010.

Like this year and last year the forthcoming year is set to be a challenging one for many households, and with this in mind many are already making plans to try and save money on their outgoings over the course of 2010 to make their financial lives a little easier. One way in which many people will do this is by switching service providers and package for various things such as utilities.

A recent report has suggested that many broadband users in the UK are hoping to cut back on their outgoings by switching their broadband package or provider when 2010 comes around. More than forty percent of broadband users are hoping to switch provider or package and save money over the next twelve months according to the report.

The survey also showed that when it came to getting the right broadband service only fifteen percent of those polled said that price was the most important factor in their decision, and thirty seven percent said that speed was the most important factor. Forty two percent of those polled said that reliability would be their number one consideration when switching broadband provider or package.

One industry official stated: “Switching broadband provider can save you as much as £135 on your bills as well as getting you a faster, more reliable service. O2 Broadband and Plusnet Broadband are both great choices, whether you’re looking for superfast broadband or a cheap broadband package. O2 offers great discounts for existing customers, which can get you a 20Mb broadband package for less than £10 a month, while Plusnet offers the UK’s cheapest standalone broadband package as well as a new high-end tariff – and both have won a host of awards for customer satisfaction.”
