Many broadband customers do not switch provider
A recent report has shown how many broadband customers in the UK are failing to switch broadband provider, with many staying loyal to their existing providers.
These days switching broadband providers is easier than ever, and anyone that is not happy about the price, service, or reliability of their broadband Internet Service Provider can easily switch providers to find a better deal or a more suitable provider. However, according to a recent report many people are not doing this, and are instead staying loyal to their existing providers. The survey, which was carried out earlier this year, involved polling around ten thousand broadband service users.
Research has shown that in the past four years over fifty percent of broadband users in the UK have not switched providers, and have instead chosen to stay with their existing provider. This has caused concern amongst some industry officials given the fact that broadband service prices have come down by around thirty seven percent in this time period, and broadband speeds have increased by around seven hundred percent.
One industry official stated: “These results are very disappointing as there is a fantastic selection of ISPs and packages available to consumers. Major providers continue to battle it out for market share and in so doing drive through cost savings and service improvements. British consumers have switched on to the benefits of shopping around for household services such as gas, electricity and home phone — so why not do the same for broadband?”
He added: “Even if they are satisfied with their current provider they should ask to be put on a more up to date package as the benefits to their service and bank balance will be instantaneous.”
