Many are saving money by bundling

Recent research has shown that a huge number of consumers in the UK are saving money on the cost of broadband and related services by bundling their services.

The UK’s only Ofcom accredited advisory service, Simplifydigital.com, has recently released a report showing that there are many people that are saving significant sums of money on the cost of their broadband and related services simply by bundling these services together from one provider in one convenient plan rather than taking them out as individual services.

According to the report around eighty three percent of consumers are saving money by taking their broadband services, television, and home phone out in a single bundle from one provider. The average saving that consumers are making by doing this rather than opting for individual services is just over four hundred pounds a year.

Worryingly, research carried out by Ofcom has shown that although they can save a fair amount of money many people think that it is too much hassle to switch provider and take out a low cost bundle deal. Ofcom figures show that around forty five percent of consumers think in this way. These people simply continue to pay way over the odds because they don’t lift up the phone and initiate that call.

One industry official said: “Four hundred pounds is not an amount to be sneezed at, especially in the current financial climate. Yet many people simply won’t make that call and switch their services over even though they could make huge savings compared to what they may be paying now.”
