London businesses can lease high speed broadband
Businesses in London will be able to lease a high speed broadband connection with speeds of up to 100Mbps following a move by the Internet Service Provider Vaioni.
Officials from the Internet Service Provider Vaioni have said that businesses in the London area will soon be able to lease a high speed broadband connection offering speeds of up to 100Mbps. The connection will be made available through a “pure Ethernet, fibre optic layer two connection” according to officials, and will cost businesses £800 per month.
A spokesperson for Vaioni said that the ISP has a 99.96 SLA, and that it will guarantee to fix any problems that crop up with the service within a four hour period, causing minimal disruption to businesses that are utilising the service. An official from the ISP said that companies needed to get more out of their communications providers, and said that this move was part of the firm’s credit crunch strategy.
He went on to state: “However this 100mb offer should allow businesses to not only extend their budget in other areas of telecoms and IT, but get more for their money. We are hoping to bring this to Manchester and other major cities in the near future.”
He also said that a large number of companies were cutting down on the amount that they were spending on communications.
A number of Internet Service Providers are trialling high speed connections in various parts of the country. Many other countries already offer high speed broadband of up to 100Mbps such as Japan and Korea, although experts have said that more often than not this is not the actual speed that consumers in these countries get. However, the speeds that they do achieve are still said to be considerably higher than those that UK consumers are able to achieve at the moment.
