Local technology firm promises high speed broadband
A local technology company from Tendring has promised high speed broadband through the use of a one hundred and thirty foot mast that could provide services directly to homes and businesses.

According to a recent report businesses and residents in the Tendring area could benefit from high speed broadband internet as a result of a local technology, which wants to put up a one hundred and thirty foot mast that would provide services directly to the homes and businesses in the area. The company is Micrologic UK, which is based in Beaumont.
The transmitter from the company would work over a twelve and a half mile range according to the reports, and this would mean that it could provide high speed services to a number of areas that are currently receiving amongst the slowest speeds in the country. This includes all of Tendring and parts of Mersea and Colchester.
Kevin Barnes from Micrologic said that the high speed broadband that would stem from the project could benefit many people as well as businesses in the areas. He said: “The biggest problem is trees in the way, but because of the height of the tower we will be able to shoot over most of them. We will be able to reach most areas which are suffering from slow or no broadband connection at all. Colchester’s broadband speeds are the fourth worst in the country, but from here, we will be able to cover that area as well.”
He added: “An awful lot of people now go on to the BBC iPlayer to watch something they missed. With faster download speeds they will be able to do that without buffering, and in high definition.”
