January savings pledge for Carphone Warehouse customers

In an effort to help customers fight the increasing effects of the credit crunch the biggest independent mobile phone retailer, The Carphone Warehouse, has announced details of two new services that will make things easier and more cost effective.

The plan which will offer free landline calls and broadband until 2010 is call TalkTalk Essentials. The monthly line rental will have both broadband and calls included within it and will include calls to 36 international countries, which will save customers £77.88 over 12 months and will be available to any customers who sign up to this contract between 16th January and 2nd March.

With broadband speeds of up to 8Mbps, a download allowance of 40GB per month and a wireless router offered free with the deal, which contributes toward making it £190 cheaper than BT’s similar offer. The choice of a free Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii or laptop is also available to all customers who sign up for the new Carphone Warehouse broadband package.

It has been revealed that by not being on suitable mobile phone tariffs residents in the UK are wasting £29.7 billion on their bills, with Pay As You Go customers making up two thirds of the wasted money, according to the Carphone Warehouse. In order to make sure they are on the right tariff customer are now able to use MyMobileTariffChecker from Carphone Warehouse to help them save money.

The Carphone Warehouse UK CEO, Andrew Harrison said “We know our customers are looking for money saving options now more than ever. With the current economical climate, we are offering our customers cost effective solutions to be able to stay in touch easily and cheaply, both online and over the phone. The benefits for both services really do speak for themselves, and there is great scope for saving money in 2009 with the Carphone Warehouse.”
