It was announced earlier this month that the Internet Service Provider Awards (ISPAs) were now open for entries, and the 2010 awards will see a couple of new and interesting categories included with the usual line up. The majority of the awards will be centred around the broadband services received from Internet service providers, with a wide range of categories that providers can be put forward for.

Amongst the broadband provider categories for this years ISPAs are the Best Consumer Fixed Broadband ISP, the Best Business Fixed Broadband ISP, the Best Mobile Broadband ISP, and the Best Consumer Customers Service ISP, amongst others. An independent judging panel combined with technical testing will be used to determine the winners of each of the awards.

The two new awards that are set to be included in the 2010 line up are the Access Innovation Award and the Digital Inclusion Award. The first of these is designed for those that have shown innovation in getting internet access to not-spot areas and the second award is aimed at those that have helped those that are socially or economically disadvantaged to get online.

Another couple of interesting categories are the Internet Hero and the Internet Villain awards. The first is designed for someone that has helped to develop the Internet in some way, and as the name would suggest the latter is for someone that has tried to hinder the development of the Internet.
