ISP wants more older people to get online
An ISP is trying to encourage kids to help their grandparents to learn more about using the internet in a bid to try and get more people from the older generation to get online.

These days the Internet and broadband access helps many people all around the world, and in the UK there are many businesses and consumers that benefit from broadband services in many different ways. Younger people would find it difficult to even imagine life without having access to the Internet, but many older people who never grew up with this sort of technology sometimes struggle when it comes to using the Internet.
One Internet service provider is now trying to encourage children to help their grandparents to use the Internet in a bid to try and get more people from the older generation to get online. There are many older people that use the Internet on a regular basis, known as silver surfers, but many others simply cannot get their head around the technology and may need a helping hand from the experts – the kids!
The Internet provider CharityTalk believes that more people in their sixties and above would get online if they had the support, help, and assistance of younger relations such as the grandkids, who would be able to teach them the basics and help them to gain confidence in using the internet.
One official from the ISP said: “Older people can benefit from the numerous savings to be made from shopping and paying bills online. They can get health and exercise information and keep in touch with current affairs. We’re calling on the younger generation to take greater responsibility and help bring all these advantages to their grandparents”.
