ISP performance rankings added to Net Index by Ookla
Broadband users will now be able to determine how well their broadband provider is performing with Ookla having added performance rankings to its Net Index.
For many people it is important to know how their broadband provider is performing, and this is also something that can help those that are looking to take up broadband services to make up their minds with regards to which provider they should choose.
It has now been announced that Ookla is adding broadband provider performance rankings to its Net Index. This will help consumers to determine whether a particular provider is living up to their claims when it comes to speed and broadband performance, thus enabling them to make a more informed decision over which provider to choose.
Users can quickly and easily check various aspects of the provider’s performance, such as upload, download, and quality simply by choosing the appropriate index and providing details of their area. This will then provide a list of providers along with a ranking from one to five based on the rankings of users.
The move comes as a rising number of concerns are being raised with regards to the speeds that are advertised by broadband providers and the speeds that consumers have actually been receiving from their broadband connections. A survey that was recently carried out by the UK communications regulator Ofcom showed that many consumers were failing to achieve anywhere near the advertised speeds from their broadband service providers.
