ISP makes finals of Internet industry awards
An Internet Service Provider has recently been told that it has made the finals of the UK Internet Industry Awards thanks to its success in connecting remote businesses in Somerset.
One Internet Service Provider has received some good news recently after being informed that it has made the finals of the UK Internet Industry Awards. South West Internet, which is a wireless Internet provider, has been connecting remote businesses in the Somerset area, and thanks to its efforts in this field has found itself in the finals of the awards.
The award that South West Internet has been shortlisted for in the Internet Industry Awards is the Corporate Social Responsibility Award. The awards are to be presented in London on 9th July, and South West has been put forward because of its commitment to supplying broadband access to businesses that would otherwise struggle in Somerset.
One industry official stated: “South West Internet provides rural business in Somerset with low-cost broadband, plus free access for community groups, so the award would be well-deserved.” He added: “Some businesses can obtain faster broadband speeds through Somerset’s wireless internet network than those in London. It’s no wonder that Somerset has one of the UK’s highest broadband take-up rates and the best in the West.”
Tim Snape from South West Internet said: “We are proud and excited to reach the finals, as the award is for the company whose policies have had the most positive effect on society.” South West Internet was formed with the cooperation of both the local and the district councils for Somerset, and the area now has the highest start up business rates outside of London.
