Internet can help businesses in the UK to go global in just weeks
According to the European head of Google Philipp Schindler, companies and businesses in the UK could enjoy the benefits of going global in a matter of just weeks simply by embracing and making the most of Internet and broadband technology.

The current environment is a tough one for both new and established businesses, with the recent recession, the ongoing difficult financial climate, soaring operational costs and low consumer confidence all taking their toll on businesses. However, according to European head of Google Philipp Schindler businesses could make a big difference to their success levels simply by making the most of Internet and broadband technology.
He said that UK companies could enjoy going global in a matter of weeks in some cases if they embraced and made proper use of internet and broadband. He said that this cut out the need to costly market analysis and other methods that firms used to use in order to try and get global recognition.
Schindler said: “You can literally go global in several weeks. A few years ago you had to pay for expensive market analysis to set up operations. More or less, you can significantly speed up the way you expand and ‘internationalise’.”
He also pointed out that recent research had shown that companies who actively used the internet and broadband technology to their advantage were up to eight times more likely to enjoy success compared to those that did not. He said that video and social networking was becoming a more integral part of a company’s success making the internet even more important.
Do you believe that businesses these days can be successful without the Internet?
