Internet advertising enjoys great success

With the increase take up of broadband and mobile broadband it has been revealed that the concept of online advertising in the UK is now enjoying huge success.

There are many forms of advertising that have been commonly used by companies and businesses to raise awareness of and market their goods and services. However, over more recent years the face of advertising has been changing. In the past print media, radio, and television were the main channels for advertising. However, the increased take up of broadband and mobile broadband services has resulted in a change in advertising methods with many now advertising online.

With so many people now using the Internet businesses have become increasingly aware of the benefits of online advertising. This offers them with an affordable yet very effective form of advertising platform where they can reach their target audience with ease and will not pay over the odds. Internet advertising has now become so popular that it is said to account for around twenty five percent of all advertising spending in the UK.

Over the course of last year online advertising is said to have grown by nearly thirteen percent, which has resulted in this form of advertising breaking the £4 billion barrier. A study was carried out by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), which found that last year online advertising spending grew three times as fast as it did in 2009.

According to the Advertising Association there is one major benefit that is attracting businesses and companies to increase their spend when it comes to advertising online. One official from the group said: “It’s targeted, it makes it easier for brands to work out who they’re advertising to.”
