High speed broadband could bring new opportunities for electricians
Following the release of the new broadband funding proposals by the government some officials have said that electricians will find themselves in demand once the implementation of the plans begins.
The government has been emphasising on many occasions the various benefits of higher speed broadband, and this has included improvements to the economy, enabling consumers and businesses to save money, and an increase in employment opportunities across the nation, to name but a few.
Recently the government launched its proposals with regards to how the one billion funding for higher speed broadband should be allocated. The money has been raised through the landline tax that will see landline owners paying at least fifty pence per months, which will then be put towards the implementation of higher speed broadband across the country.
Some experts are now claiming that one type of tradesperson that will be needed to implement the higher speed broadband plan is electricians, and it has been predicted that once plans to implement the higher speed broadband are put into place electricians will find themselves in great demand to help install the higher speed broadband technology across the country.
Lord Mandelson has long since been highlighting the job opportunities and the other benefits that higher speed broadband will offer, and he recently said: “By upgrading our networks we will put the UK at the fore of rapidly developing technologies which will bring jobs, boost business potential and grow our digital economy.”
Gordon Brown has also recently appealed for support from the public with regards to the higher speed broadband plans, echoing Mandelson’s views on the improvements that this type of technology will bring.
