High Court closes down broadband providers
According to recent reports two broadband providers have been closed down by the High Court and the Insolvency Service following investigations over sales tactics.

It has been reported recently that the High Court and the Insolvency Service have closed down two broadband providers following an investigation over the alleged use of questionable sales strategies and tactics. The two broadband providers that have been closed down are Continental Telecom and Plus Save.
The two firms have gained a very bad reputation when it comes to customer service levels and although they were under investigation by authorities over their sales tactics they both refused to cooperate with the authorities with regards to the activities that were under investigation.
David Hill, Company Investigations Supervisor at the Insolvency Service, is reported to have said that the two firms were trying “solely to mislead the public”. He added: “The court’s decision to wind them up shows the seriousness with which this type of dishonest customer service activity is viewed.”
Continental Telecom had already been charged fifty thousand pounds last year by the communications regulator Ofcom for poor provision of services as well as for failure on the part of the company to cooperate with the regulator’s investigation into the mis-selling of its services.
Have you ever had dealings with these two firms and do you believe they deserved to be closed down?
