High broadband penetration can be found in regions in the UK
A new survey from one of the UKs major research companies has discovered that 68 out of all the regions in the county have a high broadband penetration level.
Research company Point Topic has recently released figures that show 68 of the UK’s regions currently having broadband penetration levels that can be considered as high.
The areas that currently benefit from these high penetration levels in the UK currently only account for a total of 17 percent of the population according to the recent Point Topic survey. The highest broadband connectivity rates in the country can be found in locations like Plymouth, Watford and Norwich, although moderate quality penetration rate are to be found in almost 75 percent of the UK, which is a considerable portion of the country.
When comparing the south and the north of the country it was also discovered that there was a huge difference, with the west and the north of the country only contain three of the 68 regions that are enjoy a high level of penetration.
Poor penetration levels, however, only cover around 9 percent of the country and the majority of this area consists of either rural or remote users that access telephone exchanges that are quite a distance from their homes, which greatly reduces the broadband speeds that they enjoy.
In order for the people in the more rural and remote parts of the UK to enjoy more thorough and faster broadband connection speeds that other areas of the country currently get technologies like wireless networking and satellite broadband are currently being considered. This will enable users to benefit from applications like streaming video and audio media, Voice over IP (VoIP) and many other facilities that users in the high penetration areas of the country enjoy.
