It has been announced that wireless broadband hotspot provider The Cloud, which was recently acquired by Sky, has reached a deal with the City of London and will be providing free WiFi access to people within the Square Mile.

The city of London is a busy place with many people passing through each day – many of whom have mobile broadband and internet devices. There is some good news in the pipeline for these people, as a recent deal will see them being able to access the Internet for free through the use of WiFi.
The wireless broadband provider The Cloud, which was recently acquired by media and communications giant Sky, is said to have reached a deal with the City of London. Under the agreement The Cloud will be offering free WiFi access to people within the Square Mile. People will be able to connect to the internet for free for fifteen minutes a day. Officials believe that hundreds of thousands of people will be able to take advantage of the service.
A similar initiative has been set up in Glasgow, and officials have said that it has proven very popular. Thousands of people each day have been logging on in order to benefit from the free access for the limited time that they have, and it is thought that the London initiative will be equally as popular if not more so.
An official from The Cloud said that the company was very excited about the initiative, adding that it would allow people to get their free internet fix each day. He added “This is mobile broadband in its true sense.”
